Guidelines for Investigative Article Proposals

10 Mar

A one-page (500-600 word) proposal describing the topic for your investigative article will be due the first class back from break.  I know that plans can and do change, especially as you begin the research process, so you will not be wedded to this proposal.  However, planning ahead is key to writing an investigative article.

So, the proposal should include 1.) a brief description of the issue, problem, or question that the article is seeking to investigate.  2.) A statement about why you think this is a topic worthy of investigation, and 3.) A list of sources you will need to interview and consult in order to responsibly investigate the issue.

This should be turned in via Dropbox by the first class back after break.
